Robert Charles Capistrano (Bob) is a community-based coastal resource management (CBCRM) practitioner for more than a decade in the Philippines. He has worked with Haribon Foundation for the Conservation of Natural Resources, the oldest environmental organization in the country holding key positions: Researcher for CBCRM project dealing with various stakeholders including coastal communities, academic institutions, and the local government units; Project Officer for the Broad-based Coastal Management Training Program in Indonesia and Viet Nam; and Resource Mobilization Officer writing proposals on biodiversity conservation, environmental education, and coastal resource management initiatives. He has also done various volunteer works that involves building the capacity of fishers towards marine protected area management, mangrove rehabilitation, and sustainable livelihoods. Bob is also a Secretariat member of the National Alliance of Community-based Marine Protected Area Managers in the Philippines and the Resource Mobilization Officer of the Foundation for a Sustainable Society.
