Tatiana obtained hers bachelor degree with honors (2003) and master’s degree (2006) both in Anthropology from Los Andes University. Hers masters dissertation was financed by the National Archaeological Research Foundation of Colombia and was published by Los Andes University. Since 2003, Tatiana has been working with the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History and Erigaie and Terra Firme Foundations in diverse types of archaeological an anthropological research projects. During 2006 Tatiana had been working as cultural advisor in the Colombian Ocean Commission in the design of the National Policy for the Colombian Oceans and Coastal Zones, among other things. This document was approved in 2007 by the national government and now is a public policy. Through the design process of this policy, Tatiana guided the development of the social and cultural component, related with the sustainable development and the maritime cultural heritage, which now is hers research topic. In 2007 she won the United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship award. In 2007 she won the United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship award. Her research title was “Constructing the Notion of the Maritime Cultural Heritage in the Colombian Territory: Tools for the Protection and Conservation of Fresh and Salt Aquatic Surroundings”. In 2008 she worked with the government in the design of two diagnostics in order to develop public policy for Bogotá city. Since this year she is working as a professor in Externado University in Social Studies and Cultural Heritage Faculties. Also she is working as a researcher in Erigaie and Terra Firme Foundation. Today, she is also interested in development issues, included urban contexts.
