About Chanju Mwale
I am a Legal Officer employed in the Malawi Defence Force and have been in military service since 2004. I hold an LLb(hons) degree, Diploma in Military Law. I have been on a number of deployments the most recent one being under MONUC in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a Military Observer and Conduct and Discipline Officer from 2010-11(12 months).
I have attended various trainings in the international fora albeit not pertaining to the Law of Sea including Counter Terrorism Measures, Ethical Leadership for Security Officers, International Humanitarian Law for Military Peacekeepers, Trainer of Trainers for UN peacekeepers to mention a few.
This Fellowship offers me an opportunity to expand my professional horizons in an area which was new to me.
